Celtic Prince Statue

Attempted Reconstruction of a Celtic Prince (Keltenfürst) made for the Kurpfälzisches Museum of Heidelberg.
---
From the 'Celtic Prince' of Heidelberg only the fragment of a head was found. Initially this has been thought of as part of a Stela, until a statue with a very similar head was found in Glauberg. In this reconstruction therefore the head from Heidelberg has been 'merged' with the body from Glauberg. The statues were made of sandstone and could have potentially been painted. Details like the armor or the headdress indicate the statue to represent a warrior, as well as possibly a priest.

Sculpted in Zbrush. Started of using Shadow Box. This proved to work well, since the horizontal cross sections of the statue were rather rectangular anyway. To save time the sculpt has been ZRemeshed. Unwrapped with RizomUV and baked in Marmoset Toolbag.
Textured in Substance Painter. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag and Unreal Engine, using Detail Texturing for close-ups.
