Museum Discovery Station - Heidelberg 1622 (UE4)

In 2022, on the occasion of the 400 year anniversary of the Siege of Heidelberg, I had the opportunity to work on an update for the Discovery Station in the Kurpfälzisches Museum, alongside amazing team members from MESO Digital Interiors and Historic VR. The Discovery Station allows visitors to the museum to explore different periods of Heidelberg's history. The installation, conceived and created by MESO features four widescreens and two info-panels allowing visitors to freely fly through the environment in realtime. Back in 2020, I was already part of the first version, which focused on the Celtic and Roman periods. Now, I was happy to be back for the new update, which added a third scenario: the Renaissance period, more specifically, the Siege of 1622.

This time I was responsible for creating the landscape, for material creation & texturing, for the city walls, the castle gardens and managing the architectural workflows within the Historic VR team.
